The Hetzner price increase 2026 came in two cloud rounds: 1 April 2026 and 15 June 2026. Together they took the cheapest x86 server, the CX23, from 2.99 euro to 5.49 euro net per month, an 83.6 % rise, and the x86 CPX and CCX lines rose far more in June. We checked those numbers against the Hetzner Cloud API on 5 November 2026, and all eight CX and CAX prices match the June list.

Why it matters now: price is no longer the only question. The cheapest plans are often shown as unavailable, and many "cheap VPS" guides still quote 2025 prices. Below are the dated facts, today's prices, and what our measurements say you get for them.

What we add that news posts lack: the price next to measured output. On our CX33, 8.49 euro net per month bought 13.5 tokens/s on Llama 3.2 3B and 31.93 n8n webhook executions/s.

What changed in 2026, with dates

  • Early February 2026: one-time setup fees for dedicated servers went up, per heise.
  • 1 April 2026: a broad price rise across Hetzner's products, cloud included. heise reported on 23 February 2026 that both new orders and existing products were affected and that Hetzner made no exceptions for long-term contracts. Hetzner cited sharply higher operating costs and much higher procurement costs for new hardware, naming RAM and NVMe SSD prices.
  • 15 June 2026, 8:00 CEST: a second cloud and dedicated round. Hetzner's cloud changelog entry of 28 May 2026 says "updated pricing for cloud servers will apply to new orders and rescales". Existing servers keep their price unless you rescale them. heise reported average rises of about 158 % for US data centres, 99 % for Germany and just under 78 % for Singapore, with the US CPX41 going from 38.99 to 120.49 euro per month.
  • 26 June 2026: Hetzner posted a status notice, "Limited availability of cloud instances", restricting new servers for new customers and for some existing customers chosen at random, citing "the limited availability of required hardware components".
  • 7 July and 6 October 2026: new small CPX types arrived in the EU, the CPX12 (1 vCPU, 2 GB) and the CPX02 (1 vCPU, 1 GB), per the same changelog.

From the Hetzner Cloud API, location hel1, checked 2026-11-05. "Incl. VAT" is what our Czech (EU consumer) account pays; businesses and buyers outside the EU usually pay the price excl. VAT. Primary IPv4 is billed separately.

Two notes. "Gross" here includes the VAT on our account. And the API price is for the server only: a primary IPv4 address adds 0.50 euro net per month, per Hetzner's Primary IPs docs. That is why Hetzner's website now shows the CX23 "from 5.99 euro" while the API says 5.49.

What the new prices buy, measured

We ran the same tests on five plans in Helsinki on 5 November 2026. Here is the output per euro, using the API net prices above:

PlanNet €/monthLlama 3.2 3B tokens/sn8n best executions/sn8n executions/s per euro
CX235.495.815.042.74
CAX115.996.513.92.32
CX338.4913.531.933.76
CAX2110.4912.225.772.46
CX4315.9921.236.142.26

Tokens/s is how many word pieces a local model writes per second; an n8n execution is one full run of our webhook, Code node and response workflow under load. After the price rise the CX33 is the best value on both measures. Full results are in the Hetzner review, and the x86 against ARM details in Hetzner CX vs CAX.

Availability: the price is not the only hurdle

On 5 November 2026 Hetzner's cost-optimized page showed every CX and CAX model with "This product is currently unavailable. Please check back later." and noted that "the number of available servers is limited". The status notice from 26 June 2026 was still the latest entry we could find. Even so, our account created all five test servers in Helsinki that same day. Your chance of ordering depends on your account and location; try the Console or API before you plan around a plan.

What to do now

  1. Do not rescale an old-price server casually. Under the June rules a rescale takes the new price. If a server you created before 15 June is big enough, leave it.
  2. Price new servers with IPv4 included. Add 0.50 euro net to every API price unless you run IPv6-only.
  3. Skip the new CPX types for small stacks. At 19.49 euro the CPX22 costs more than three CX23s. Use CX or CAX if you can get them.
  4. Size by measurement, not by habit. n8n alone idled at 1,036 MiB of RAM on our production CX23. If that is your whole workload, the 5.49 euro plan is enough.
  5. Keep an exit option. If you cannot order, or your users are in the US where heise reported the steepest rises, compare other providers' current, dated prices.
We will update this page when Hetzner changes prices again. Hetzner offers referral credits, not a sales commission.

Next step: see where another provider makes more sense in Hetzner alternatives.

Hetzner prices on this page include 21% VAT, as charged to our Czech (EU consumer) account by the Hetzner API on 2026-11-05. Without VAT (businesses, most buyers outside the EU): CX23 5.49 €, CX33 8.49 €, CX43 15.99 €, CAX11 5.99 €, CAX21 10.49 € per month.

FAQ

When did Hetzner raise prices in 2026?

Cloud prices rose on 1 April 2026 and again on 15 June 2026 at 8:00 CEST. Setup fees for dedicated servers had already gone up in early February 2026, per heise.

Do existing Hetzner servers get the new prices?

The April 2026 change applied to existing products too, per heise. For the June 2026 change, Hetzner's cloud changelog says the new prices apply to new orders and rescales, so a running server keeps its price unless you resize it.

How much does a Hetzner CX23 cost now?

5.49 euro net per month in the Hetzner Cloud API on 5 November 2026, plus 0.50 euro net for a primary IPv4. Before April 2026 it was 2.99 euro net.

Why did Hetzner raise prices?

Hetzner cited much higher procurement costs for new hardware, especially RAM and NVMe SSDs, and higher operating costs, according to heise.

Can I still order Hetzner CX and CAX servers?

Sometimes. Hetzner's product page showed every CX and CAX model as unavailable on 5 November 2026, and a status notice since 26 June 2026 restricts new servers for new and some existing customers. We were still able to create five CX and CAX servers in Helsinki that day.
