AI Hosting Lab answers one question: which server do you actually need to self-host AI and automation? Most hosting advice repeats spec sheets and promo prices. We rent the servers ourselves, install the real apps (n8n with Postgres, Ollama with real models, the official Supabase stack), measure what happens and publish the raw numbers.

Who runs it

The Lab is run by Petr Hess, founder and editor. Petr runs n8n and other self-hosted tools for his own businesses, which is where the questions on this site come from. He is an engineer-minded editor, not a certified system administrator: every guide is written from what we ran and measured plus official documentation, and where a step needs a professional, the article says so.

What we promise

  • We only claim tests we ran. Every Lab table names the server, the date and links to the method. Providers we have not tested yet are marked as such.
  • We pay for the servers. No provider gives us free or specially prepared machines, and we never buy through our own affiliate links.
  • Every article adds something new. If we have nothing to add to what already ranks, we don't publish; we update an older page instead.
  • We show renewal prices next to promo prices.

How the site is funded

Some links are affiliate links: if you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That money pays for the test servers. A commission never changes a verdict; when a provider without an affiliate program wins a test, we say so. Details are in the affiliate disclosure.
